Henry Ramirez’s La Esperanza farm is an 8-hectare organic coffee haven nestled in the mountainous region of Bilbao, Planadas, Tolima. As a third-generation coffee grower, Henry has dedicated his life to cultivating exceptional coffee while preserving the natural ecosystem that surrounds his farm. Henry converted his farm to be certified organic in 2015, eliminating chemicals to protect soil health, water sources, and local biodiversity.
This Washed Caturra microlot is a shining example of Henry’s meticulous craftsmanship. Grown at 1,850 masl, the cherries are selectively handpicked, fermented in-cherry for 12 hours in GrainPro bags, then depulped and fermented for an additional 24 hours before undergoing a precise double-washing process. The beans are then carefully dried over 15 days to ensure a clean and vibrant flavor profile.
We are proud to welcome Henry Ramirez to our coffee stable for the first time this season, and also celebrate his conversion to a Regenerative Organic Certified farm as of last year.

High in the mountains of Bilbao, Planadas, Tolima, Henry Ramirez’s La Esperanza farm is a beacon of organic coffee cultivation. Spanning 8 hectares at 1,850 meters above sea level, the farm is a thriving ecosystem where Henry balances tradition, sustainability, and innovation. As a third-generation coffee producer, he grew up surrounded by the rhythms of coffee farming, but in 2015, he made a pivotal decision to transition to organic agriculture. His goal was clear: to protect the health of the soil, preserve local water sources, and cultivate coffee in harmony with nature.
Henry’s passion for sustainability extends beyond his farm, as he actively conserves the surrounding forest, home to native wildlife like parrots, squirrels, and guatines. His organic approach eliminates synthetic chemicals, relying instead on natural fertilizers like Nutrilom and Patertkali to enrich the soil and ensure long-term productivity.
